Less alcohol, bold flavour
In the spring of 2015, a new, important chapter started in the amazing history of the Roman brewery’s abbey beers. The inspiration for the newest addition to the Ename beer family comes from the monks of old, who used to brew beers for selling as well as small amounts of beer for their own consumption, with a lower alcohol volume.
After all, the Fathers are entitled to a tasty glass of beer to quench their thirst too. The lower alcohol content let them keep their heads clear for work and prayer. We decided to breathe new life into this tradition by launching our “Ename Pater”.
Ename Pater is a cloudy, unfiltered beer and has been hopped three times for a powerful and refreshing taste.
With the launch of Pater in the spring of 2015, the Ename family now has five members, each with its own character.
